Cloud Engineer (AWS / Azure)

About the role
MerciIT is hiring a Cloud Engineer on behalf of our client, a growing organization moving workloads to the cloud and automating how they run them. You will design, build and support secure, reliable cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure, working with the client’s developers and security teams to ship faster with less manual work.

What you will do

• Build and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS or Azure using Terraform
• Run containerized workloads on Kubernetes (EKS or AKS) and keep them healthy
• Create and improve CI/CD pipelines so teams can release safely and often
• Set up monitoring, alerting and logging, and help resolve incidents
• Apply security best practices: least-privilege access, network controls, encryption and patching
• Keep cloud costs in check and document how things are built

What you bring

• 4+ years in cloud, DevOps or infrastructure engineering
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure in production
• Strong Terraform and Kubernetes skills
• Scripting in Python or Bash
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or Azure DevOps
• Clear communication with technical and non-technical colleagues

Nice to have

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Administrator (AZ-104) or similar
• Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid environments
• Background in regulated industries such as finance or healthcare
